My name is Sahana Gurunathan
Nine out of ten times, one could find me rolled up in an obscure corner with a paperback and a mind out of this whole world, oblivious to my mother’s angry rants and the surroundings.
And the other times? A girl’s got to eat and sleep also, right?
A long time back, my school awarded the ‘four-year-old’ me a small picture book, “Goldilocks and the three bears”. And the rest, as they say – became history!
Over the years, libraries became my haven and books my peace. My imagination was unleashed beyond grasp. Faster than the speed of light, since then, each read transports me to a whole new world unlocking new perspectives and leading me towards an informed way of life. Action, adventure, mystery, crime, thrillers, and sometimes, even romance and drama carry me off my feet.
I owe my childhood to Enid Blyton, my teen years to the world of Tess Gerritsen, and now my adult life is ruled by the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie. I’m also in the process of discovering new genres and building an appreciation of more diverse writings. My recent reads include works of Raja Rao, O.V. Vijayan, Kalki, Jane Austen, and Charles Dickens.
Every reader would agree with me when I say – it becomes a struggle to reconcile oneself with the bland reality of everyday life when the current read reaches its climax.
As a cure to beat the blues, I started this blog to prolong the magic of the worlds written between the words and tie a string across reality and the parallel realms of imagination.
